Road King Classic with M8 engine

Clifton,

Look at the uk price for a road King and then enter that as a US dollar value. I think you'll find it's a lot more than you pay in the states. The base model road King is the equivalent to $23000

I tried to buy a Harley in the States some years ago (2004). Salesman told me he couldn't sell one to a Brit.
Why would they, when at the time a Road King was £13,000 in the UK as opposed to $13,000 in the States.
The dollar rate at the time was 1.6 to the pound sterling. That equaled £8125 if I could have bought one in the States.
I appreciate I would have payed import duty in the UK. But it just shows the profit margin on Harley's sold in the UK.
HD must love us.

No doubt but then you should be able to buy Triumphs cheaper than us. :-)

Why in the hell would a dealer care where you were from? Hell I'd think they'd sell to a Martian as long as he had the money.

The price of things are set by what the market will withstand...pure and simple.

The red (if it's similar to that offered for 2014) looks great on a Road King.

What is GMFV?

It's the final payment on the PCP "guaranteed minimum feature value" - on a pcp we pay a small deposit say £1000 then £250 per month for three years and the GMFV is say £11k at that point you either trade in, pay the £11k or give the bike back

Thank you for explaining GMFV.

It seems odd to me that Triumphs would be more there especially ones made at Hinkley. But they say pricing is based on what the market will pay.

Speaking of which the beautiful Hard Candy Hot Rod Red Flake paint is $2,400 more than Vivid Black but damn does it pop. BTW Harley is offering zero down with 1.99% on leftover 2016's, this along with the dealers liberal discount could be attractive to someone interested in a new one.

I wandered in to my 'local' HD dealer today while Toyota (next door) persuaded a new key to talk to my landcruiser; all bandanas and pink camo jeans, they were having a cake sale :blast
