I,ve been on my first proper ride on my new gsa today, and have to say the road noise from the front end was really bad, is it the tyres? Or is it the mud guard? Has anyone else had the same?
It's been discussed in great detail on here. It's the Anakee 3's.![]()

.
Naked bikes-all wind noise.
Tourers-all fairing.
Sports- Who cares 1000mph
Cruisers-Who cares I'm cruising
Adventure Bikes-An upright naked that will do 140mph with 3 square ft of perspex mounted 2 1/2 ft away from you, just far enough to create a black hole like vortex that necessitates a whole industry of after market screens to try and correct it.
All adventure bikes are noisy, it's the nature of the beast, tyre noise is just part of it.
well I just sold a 2009 adv at that was as quiet as a quiet thing at 40-60, so they are not all noisy. I do wear ear plugs but suffer from eczema in my ears so it's not always possible. I'll try and get some different tyres and get them fitted at my first service.
As others have said, it is most likely to be the Anakee 3s. Shortly after I got my bike I thought there was a terrific amount of noise from the front end. I stopped because I thought perhaps a wheel bearing was breaking up, or something was wrong with the brake discs. After spinning the wheel a few times I couldn't find anything wrong so I carried on riding. Then I realised that the noise was linked to some extent with the road surface, so concluded that it must be tyre noise. I've got PR4s fitted now and they're a lot quieter.
