Road racing article

It is an excellent and thoughtful article. To quote The question niggles: what exactly are we here to see? is something that has niggled me for a long time. In truth it is the close escape that once trilled me but the reality that it is death they are escaping dawns painfully as racers die.
On a broader philosophical level none of us will escape death but our death will not be a "spectator" event.
Something that once trilled me now troubles me but I am no suggesting it be banned.

Good article, anyone with an intrest in racing will look at things differantly.I will be going to faugheen this weekend, where there will be 30 yes 30 first timers on this particular track, some of these may have raced already the rest are rookies. They are also trying to bring a race to Cork for next year. The uptake for this sport despite the potential hazards is still very strong. At any given race there may be 50000 plus spectators. You dont go to a race waiting for the worst to happen you go to enjoy the thrills of high speed racing.Long may it continue.
