Road Tires on a GS

I was out last week and got a 1 inch gash in my rear tire, I was 110km from the nearest town... after some phoning arround I managed to get a Michelin Macadam of the correct size, and after 4 hours in the hot sun got it delivered, fitted and was on my way.....

I had been planning on changing tires anyway for about a month, but had been looking for Tourances (I live in Malaysia), but could not find any. Finally I found Bridgestone 501 (front) and 502 (rear) and was planning to have them fitted when the said split happened. Now I'm looking for a front Macadam, but as yet no luck, I have been offered a couple of different bridgestone road tires....

I would normally not want to mix brands, but out here its very difficult to find a 19inch front, most big bikes being sports bikes.

So my question: anybody ru a 12 with pure road tires? any body mix brands?

The choice of 19" front tyres is limited everywhere......

Email Michelin and ask for their advice ;-)

Michelin Malaysia didn't respond to an email I sent them last week. In Singapore nobody answers their phone... par for the course out here. As I had a 400km journey to make today I have fitted a Bridgestone battlewing to the front. Seems OK, little bit heavier steering than the Tourance but will do the job.
