PR1 Front - PR3 rear
Remember the PR3 is a PR2 with a new tread cut and a price hike! - I had it fitted as I expected torrential downpours last month and was keen to try one, seems I was mistaken
Rumours abound regarding a PR3 front, but nothing confirmed yet. Got all my fingers and toes crossed, I did toy with the idea of going to Michelin's factory was I was in the area a couple of weeks ago, but was too cream-crackered.
IMHO Michelins are better as the compound is softer than the RS (Dunlop in general), but everyone's got their own tyre taste. I know people love 'em, they do work well but it took around 300 miles until I was happy to throw the bike around, and they are nice, just not as good as Michelin as an all year round tyre nor as stable once into three figures as the Michelins.
As for getting hold a of PR1 all the major tyre fitters in London throw a hissy fit [1] when you ask for a PR1 front for a GS.
My very friendly tyre fitter has kept my half used RS front so I can refit in the future, one diamond geezer.
[1] to the point of hanging up on you. As I know you can get them, but the lazy buggers won't phone the distributor to order them. Then they start all this: its a GS, you really want some Trailie tyres, because they 'look good'. fcuking twonk.
