ROBENS TENTS

They are quite good tents, have a reasonable hydrostaic head and are light, downside is this is a one man tent if you are taking kit with you.

EDIT - I watched one being put up and it looked to be a one man job which is always good.

Iv'e got a rubbens Fortress , it's a 3 man or 2 tubby men or me with all my kit and a small inflatable bedside unit :mmmm
You don't have to peg it down as long as leave some gear in and the poles are short enough to fit in your box :ymca

I've also got a fortress and used it for the last 3 years in all kinds of weather. They have a hydrostatic head of 5000, most tent in this country have 3000 so you can bet it's water proof.
Easy to put up.

Deja Vu?

Haven't we been here before?

As it says, I have a Robens Lemon Grey, very good 2man tent, one pole split in force 8 gales on New Year's Eve in the Lakes but it comes with an alloy sleeve that fixed it simply...

Like it so much, I'm considering getting a 3-man Robens Light Dreamer to give us a bit more room and somewhere to put the gear on longer trips :thumb2

Have a small one/two man model and pole split last year in Peru. No wind or rain just tension on the outside of the bend. Ripped outer and had to repair the pole with sleeve as well as outer with patch and seam seal. Poles do seem brittle as others I know on the expeds last year also suffred broken poles on the Robens tents. Nothing went on the Terra Novas or Wild Country's

Ta for the replies.

After much consideration and good service from my current tent I've decided to stick with Coleman and get a Quartz 3.

And after my sleeping bag thread the other day I'm getting a Snugpak.

Exped down mattress came last week.

Thats me all sorted with new gear for a few years :thumb2

don't want to seem not intouch with my inner self but I think the whole marketing is wrong for tents

3 man tent well that sounds sh*t if they rebranded it as

1 man 2 birds I'd buy one for sure

however knowing my luck I'd end up with 2 turkeys coughing and wheezing, wanting lemsip and a hot water bottle.... but you get the idea they should rebrand the whole tent thing make it more attractive.... to the decerning consumer

not a bad title for the whole marketing campaign, get people out into the woods and all that sort of stuff...
