Rode the XR and got gear assist pro on GSA

I too test rode the xr with a view to trading in my s1000r.
Didn't like it 1 bit.
Thought the engine didn't suit the relaxed chassis. It was way too vibey and revvy. Thought my r was much more suited to that engine.

However, brought bike back and took out an r1200rs. Boy what a lovely bike. Sporty but comfortable, brilliant handling, wind protection and brakes and boxer lc engine. All perfectly matched I thought so I ordered one!

On my 5th Boxer, latest is the WC GS so fancied something different. Missus no longer wants to tour on the bike and I wanted to get back onto an in line four but can't deal with the sports bike position. Along comes the XR, perfect for me, so I'm going to have some fun when mine arrives early September, lowered suspension version.

All you guys complaint about vibes, you are lucky, at least after a ride your bike is still in one piece. When I started we had to wire most of the nuts otherwise the bike would fall apart after an hour or so.

People moan, " oh I've spent 15k and the bike has this fault, that fault etc. it's quite simple, read the forums, have a test ride and if it's not perfect for you then don't fuckin buy it or wait 12 months to see if it's any better.

I think you will find most people who have tried it and complained haven't actually bought one.

Sorry I didn't like it just a personal opinion! Good luck with your new bike though.

Yes, forget the buzzy XR, that RS is the real diamond - smooth, punchy, excellent handling, comfy and plenty quick enough on proper roads.
