For Sale Rohan Helios down jacket -genius layering

Pity it only comes in illuminous orange

I bought a nice one from Mountain Warehouse last year, its been great and fits under the Klim jacket, while still looking nice off the bike.
Downside is its showerproof but no good if it pisses down lol

I bought a second bigger one for really cold temps down to -60 which is brilliant but doesn't pack down.

Downside with artificial insulation, as opposed to feathers is additional bulk. Not too noticeable when worn but things with artificial insulation generally don't pack up as small. Depends on how big your panniers are I guess...
Dito.

My TOG24 down jacket, packs away into its own zipped chest pocket to a size smaller than my handprint and only around 2” thick. Not least as I dislike the synthetic fill.

This jacket has no hood 👍🏻, high enough collar to poke out of the top of my bike jacket and provide nice and comfortable feeling around my neck 👍🏻.
I wear it to town, on the bike, around the house (cheaper than turning in the heating to heat entire house, whilst I am sat in just one room), I love it.

It is now at least 6 years old, possibly older. I’ve purchased it from TOG24 Outlet store when it was in sale. Sadly that store (Hatfield Galeria) is no more.

I have a (now discontinued I think) Arcteryx Cerium SL down jacket that performs the same job. Easily packs down to the size of a Coke can.

You can pack the M&S jacket in to it's own pocket.

The M&S feather jackets are what I carry for the cooler trips. Luckily not needed it so far this month in Spain.
Spain is big country. It was 29’c yesterday according to the temp gauge on my GSA yday. It was 10’c cooler in the North!
Just order the jacket recommended by Arsey - thank you.

Exactly .
On my trip earlier this month it was 26 degrees one day and 3 degrees the next morning !!
Jackets such as these are brilliant as fold up pretty small but work better than the thermal lining that comes with most bike jackets - unless you’ve got a Nivala where the liner sells for over £200 in its own right !
But I had a Nivala and never wore the liner on its own as it was quite short .
Now I have a Bering Hurricane instead of the Rukka (cost me 1/4 of the price and is a much nicer jacket) this Rohan jacket is perfect to wear underneath and is great for chilly evenings too, if you’re not shy 😜

Then just buy something like this to stick it in when not in use

No thanks.
I bought my heated jacket for the ride back home.
Hot here in Cartagena.

Just bought their Brora jacket which is similar but fleece, instead of down
Wanted something as a mid layer and will work under bike jacket too

I too have a Bora jacket, half price in the sale but a very bright blue.
Usual Rohan excellence but my favourite of the last few years in my tired Mistral jacket. Like the Bora but a bit heavier.

Now 70% off so just ordered one

Looks shorter than Helios so might be even better under bike jacket

I’ve been using one of my older Mistral jackets under my Klim Badlands. I flap the hood inside and put the Rohan jacket on, the Klim then slide on as easy as a slippery stick up a dogs arse.

I don’t need any more Rohan clothing.

We have a lot of Rohan clothing, especially Sue.
I do get pissed off with them and now will not buy anything at the full price.
Sue recently bought (another) jacket from them.
Original price was £300
Sale price £160 which she paid.
Went in yesterday to buy some warm trousers and the jacket had gone down another £40 to £120.
The profit margin on these clothes must be huge. She wasn't happy.
