For sale is my 5513 mk3 lollipop dial. It's a 58- serial whichs bobswatches.com dates to 1979 and 5513mattedial.com puts at "around 1978".

It's watch and box, no papers, but I did put it in for a service request at Rolex who would only service it if they could change the hands, which I refused. I then had it serviced by Century Watch Repairs for £454 in November 2024. I have the paperwork for this service and it is included.

5513mattedial.com blurb below

MAXI III DIAL
The Maxi III Dial is a favorite among many 5513 collectors because its large tritium hour plots appear to touch the five minute hash marks underneath, giving it the nickname “lollipop”. The dial is commonly seen in cases stamped in the 5 to 6 mil range and was likely introduced around 1978.

I'll pop up pictures and a video but the core details are below.

Brand: Rolex
Model: Submariner
Reference: 5513
Version: mk3 lolipop
Serial range: 5873*** (1979)
Bracelet: 93510
End links: 580
Clasp: VD (1979)

Contents of sale:
  • External seahorse box
  • Internal green leather box
  • Rolex Submariner booklet
  • Some green official but generic Rolex pamphlet type thing which says the watch has a one year warranty from point of sale, in multiple languages, but has no serial.
  • Service paperwork: Century Watch Repairs - Nov 2024

Price: £10,500

Face to face sale only. I'm on the London/Essex borders and happy to meet in the city, or around an hour in the car.

Just to add in some bits.

  • The bezel is later and not period correct. A period correct insert would be £1k-£2k - if you can find one.
  • Comes with an extra link from RSC so the bracelet is full length +1.
  • I have a spare Steel Reef easy-link bought in December 2024 for £106 and can include if needed.
  • Service paperwork from Dec 2024 attached

Price reduction to £9,950.

Lovely watch and utterly ridiculous behaviour by Rolex to only deign to service it on the proviso of fitting new hands - why change the originality? Good luck with the sale.

Cheers guys. Rolex will replace and polish anything to have it like new and don’t care about originality, so I had it serviced elsewhere.

I have two 5513s, the other is a mk5 (either 1983 or 1984) so if dates/birth years are important let me know and we can work something out.

Damn, that's a handsome watch!

I do like the non-date Subs, lovely and clean, simple looking dial.

GLWTS
Proper tool watch, my first one was non-date. Sold it here...I wonder if the buyer would sell it back to me :D...can't remember who it was:rolleyes:
