I would like to get hold of something that will allow me to store my bike across the rear of my garage. I'm thinking of something that I can park the 1150GS in on its centre stand, swivel it 90 degrees and roll it neatly and safely to the back of my garage. Has anyone got such a device or know where I can get one from?

Motor Boy

Ordered one from their website last night. 3-5 working days £72.99 - bit of a query over p&p though, will find out next week. The item is called 'Motor Boy'.

Web link was useful steve but had trouble searching with it. Eventually found their site on www.hein-gericke.com.

Will let you all know what I think of it when it arrives.

steve.

Motor Boy

Arrived this morning. Charged £5.50 for carriage so whole thing cost £78.49. Just the job, now have both vehicles indoors away from frost and ice. Item is very well made and easy to move about under load. Read a few replies in other threads about rocking and levering bike about on one leg of stand. I wouldn't like to rely on this myself as both stands on GS are quite weedy. BMW probably forgot to add this into design and only realised when they wouldn't stand up outside of the factory. Anyway, thanks for helpful replies and I can also recommend this handy gadget.

esbee,

Is it difficult to get the bike off the stand when on the trolley ?

Not difficult at all Luke. The groundplate is only just clear of floor level supported by a heavy duty double castor at each corner. Each castor can be locked to ensure that nothing slides away during the mounting process. The manufacturer indicates that should more ground clearance be needed it is acceptable to shim that castors up with large washers. I tried to put a photo in here to show how little space the bike now takes up, but don't know how this works as I'm new here. When the GS is parked normally in my garage it very much takes up all space - can get a couple of pushbikes, lawmawer, etc, in but nothing larger. With GS on Motor Boy can now garage the old Astra as well.
