Interested in Romania. Was supposed to go this year but things conspired against me. Not least bursitis in my hip. Up for it next time though. I've done quite a bit of research too.:roll

Think you may have got a biggggggggg tour to organise Joybringer. Seems there's plenty of interest in this one.
One point though - which you and others may want to comment on: Is late August a good time to go? a) it will be stinking hot and b) school holidays do have an impact on ferry prices, hotel availability and so on. Wonder if late June/early July or mid/late September may be better. Just a thought.

A joybringer tour , what's not to like.
Does sound like a plan Mark will be watching with interest.
Really enjoyed my last tour with the group and hopefully won't need to rush back again early.

Hi JB,

I would like to register my interest. Late August, early September works for me (at the moment).

Thanks

John.

After much deliberation, cogitation, self-flaggelation, and mastication, this is going to be too big to do in the allotted timescales, if only to do it justice.

So, whilst the feedback and interest is really appreciated, I am closing this one - for the time being at least. :)

Thank you again for your kind words and interest, and I look forward to riding with you another time.

Who knows - I may have another cunning plan....

Romainia

It is a long way I went in 2008 and it was all riding to get there three weeks is essential,we went from the Hook to Dresden on the first day and that was a long day should have allowed for a day here as very intresting. Thjen thro Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, dident have time to see anything apart from a trip
to Auchwitz whilst in Poland. Romanians are very nice people. We went to the Dracula Rally in Turda, amazing do, they close off the main street (dual carrage way) and have bike racing up and down!. You have never seen bike racing like this!, One local riding a Harly Davidson chopper of aincent vintage wearing an old German helmet and out size goggles and a Scottish gent riding an 1100 RT dressed in a kilt! amongst other things a real laugh and happy times. But if you go book into the Hotel Dracula, a really high class place
with good food etc, if not the other hotels in town resemble a real goolag
I kid you not, has an optomistic two star sign out side but looks like a huge concrete block with windows!! but is worse inside. Several people who got stuck here just went home, muggins stuck it out but all meals were taken in the Dracula across the road, where a good time was had by all. Had a good time and also visited the salt mine massive place. Do pay it a visit as it is a really nice (and hot) place to be.
visit.

maybe use autozug train from dusseldorf down to trieste overnight...save a few days and a few mm of tyre wear and same back, spend two weeks in balkans ....
