I've been wanting a Roof Daytona helmet because they look so cool, but as they are not available in the U.S. I planned to buy one in Paris on my next trip over. So last week I visited every bike shop along along Grande Armee and was shocked to find no Daytonas available and only a few leftover Boxers on display. On inquiry I was told that the helmets did not work well, leaked when raining and were otherwise a service problem for the stores, which no longer sold them. At the Paris Motorcycle show I asked the Roof rep why I could not find one in Paris. She replied that there had been a factory fire that had halted production. Has anyone had experience with Roof helmets?

I`ve got two Roof Boxers.

They`re comfy and surprisingly quiet.

The problems are....

They mist up like a BASTARD.

They get rainwater running down the inside of the visor.

The rainwater collects in the chinbar.

They`re unbearably hot in very hot weather,as there`s no vents.

But they look cool.................

Hmm... do you wear glasses?

I bought a Roof Daytona because they look cool and the blue matched my bike (any my eyes!! :D ).

Only used it three times before giving up on it because...

As Tarka said they mist up like a bast**d
If you wear glasses I found they are uncomfortable
Do not provide good peripheral because of that cool visor shape

But hey if you still want one I happen to have a nearly new blue Roof Daytona size 60 up for sale!!!

Happy shopping.

Roof factory burned down to the ground a few weeks ago, and will take a few months to rebuild, so shortly there will be very little Roofs available.

But the Daytona was still being made !

Ask Sugarcube about his Roof (see thread on Ireland forum) and I think you'll find he is less than impressed :)

I like my ROOF 010 Daytona. It's as quiet as helmets get at speed, it is very comfortable too. The vents do work, (so make sure you close then when it rains!!!), and when it was new, it never misted up. But now, after the visor has been cleaned several times, it does mist around town and at low speed, so I ride with it open a fraction and it clears quickly and stays clear. I do use Rain-X on the visor though. One thing I do not like is the visor mechanism. It's a right b*gger to get it just rght! Hope this helps. :thumb

Roofies !

I have a Roof Roadster, open face helmet which is actually quieter than my system 4, it also has an iridium visor that makes me look like the bloke from They Fly !

ahem ..... from the neck up that is !
