all things going well i hope to arrive in Roscoff at 10.30 am next saturday. is millau doable in one day? any recommendations for a place to stay in that area. heading south thereafter to the south of spain. is andorra worth a look on the way south ? thanks for any help.

According to Via Michelin, mate, it's 9 hours and 18 minutes by the quickest route, most of which is autoroute. Doable, I guess, but doesn't sound like much fun :)

In terms of accommodation, this site was recommended by someone recently www.hotel-bb.com/rechercher.phtml

Sounds like an interesting trip overall. Are you going alone?

yes, from looking at some of the previous posts i am beginning to conclude that the nine odd hours driving to the bridge would be more like work, time that could be better spent on other roads. I will be on my own. I have to be in malaga on tuesday afternoon and would like to follow an interesting road south because i do have some time. I have driven the run before but last time i kept to motor way until madrid then had a wonderful run cross county via toledo, cordoba to my destination. I am not on a GS this time. that will follow me home next week. I am on a 1994 K1100rs . fine road bike, likes good surface. slightly heavy and ponderous by modern standards. that in mind i am trying to plot a road route down, but i know nothing of the pyrennes etc.

I think it's the old problem: Why, if you are starting from Roscoff and aiming for southern Spain, are you trundling over the bridge?

The mighty Millau will be there for a year or two more, that's for sure. I would concentrate on working out some good roads to get you to where you want to really be going.... Decent scale maps and a trawl through a number of threads on UKGSer will hold all the answers.
