if ye want tay go sailin why no buy a boat ,,tunnel hawf an hour 32 bangers rest o the time own yer bike....

I checked the tunnel price before booking with P&O (one bike, two passengers) - tunnel 6th July, 10 am departure £41 single. P&O Dover, 10 am departure £17.50 single.

I'd probably have chosen the ferry even if the price was the same, for me going on a boat makes it more interesting. The tunnel's jist boring!

Just booked with DFDS. Travelling wi' the bike in July. Me and Frau Ronno in a 2 berth cabin: £302 return.

Can't be bad for a peak holiday period :bounce1

I didnae even bother wi' a quote fae Norfolkline at Rosyth. Feck sharin' a cabin and cludgie wi total strangers (and payin double the DFDS price for the trouble). I reckon this firm will go the same way as Superfast. I cannae understand why they can't have a ferry that caters for couples and has 2 berth cabins.

Booked yesterday Newcastle > Ijmuiden. 1 handsome bloke alone in 2 bed cabin + bike, return, no meals booked. Aug 22.

£300

Checked prices only a few days before. It was £270.

The rosyth boat would be a dangerous place to be. At the prices they charge, the only folk on board would be mentally derranged.

Me tae, booked newcastle ferry for 2 bikes and 2 folk no meals end o july back in august and was 420 quid. Works out a good bit dearer to go through the tunnel by time ya add up petrol and tyres. Rosyths even dearer!!

When I asked Norfolk line if we could do that I was told in no uncertain term that it wouldn't be possaible anyway.... > agree that they go out of business if this is all they can offer. Its Newcastle for us in Sept.:beerjug:

See they are doing seats now - £280 for 2 people and 1 bike. My impression from the website is that you won't be sharing a cabin with strangers you end up with 2 folk in a 4 berth cabin which was why it was so expensive...

Another £20 and you can have a cabin with a bed and a shower from DFDS.

It's a no brainer for me...
