To get comfortable I have rotated the bars in the yokes so I now need to rotate the brake and clutch levers to match. To save me undoing every fastening till I find the right ones, can anyone tell me which fastenings hold the levers fixed? bike is a 2008 GS

Note that there are usually holes in the bars into which the levers locate to stop the, rotating so you will probably need to file off the locating pins on the inside of the lever fixings.

Dont have a GS handy but I think its just a couple of allen or torx head pinch bolts on each side.

Bar risers might be an easier option.:nenau

got them already. but if you can imagine rotating the bars in what the yanks call the triple trees, how do you get the levers back to horizontal?

For the benefit of anyone else wanting to do the same thing - only limited movement is possible. Problem is not the brake and clutch - they are held in position by the mirror clam. Problem is the plastic switch assemblies which have a bolt holding them which passes right through the bars. So they cant be moved short of drilling the bars

I dont like the bars pulled back into my crotch like BMW seem to prefer. Putting the bars comfortable (close to flat) puts the switches too far backwards so the levers hit the switch boxes or the buttons are too high to reach with thumbs.

I also have bar risers. The best option is probably to fit aftermarket bars and find another way to stop the switches spinning around.
