Hi all,

since last week my engine has a pretty irregular idle. The revs go up and down between 1000 and 1250 rpm. Nothing too bad but it didn't used to do that before.

Its like its always switching between slow revs for a couple of seconds and then it spins a bit faster for another couple of seconds. Also while riding the engine isn't as smooth as usual.

-Valve clearances checked ok
-Synchro ok
-Corroded TPS connector cleaned.
-Fuel tank cleaned (traces of condensed water)
-Both idle synchro connector rubber caps in place
-Fuel filter ok
-Plugs look ok and spark no prob
-Plug connectors don't show traces of wear

Anyone recognises these symptoms and has any suggestions?

Could be important: The night before I had a minor off ( ice patch at 5mph). Nothing serious. Also I washed the bike when home and the symptoms seem to be there ever since...

This might seem just a stupid detail but since I ship my bike to South America next month, I would like to be sure it is reliable for the 7 weeks trip I have planned.

Tnx for your replies

Tom

Get a tin of ACF 50 and do the spark leads and the coil
Then see if the problem is still there?

Coil sounds a possiblity or a dodgy fuel pressure regulator!

Tnx all, it was indeed a faulty coilpack. Replaced it, synchronised the throttle bodies and the engine spins like a sewing machine :D
