Rough running.

With less than a week till the ferry crossing my R100GS has started to tick over a bit roughly. The throttle pick up is also uneven and there is a fair amount of popping on the over run.
At higher speeds, everything seems to be o.k.
I`ve changed the air filter and fitted Iridium plugs and it may be slightly better, but I`m not sure what the gap should be for these plugs.
The only other obvious problem is a badly frayed throttle cable on the left carb.
Any ideas where I might go next? (so to speak!)

To the shop for a new throttle cable. Your old one is sticking (due to the frays) on the return.

you shouldnt be going anywhere near a ferry abroad with a frayed cable

get two new uns - I got two the same /long size
then save the best old un as a spare - that you will never need
