Previous clown has rounded off rear calliper bolt by using a hex on it by looks of it.

I've got those Lh thread things but can't get purchase, used wd etc no joy! Cant get mole grips on, any ideas appreciated:(

drill head off

Drill the head off and then take caliper off and use mole grips on the remaining stud

File, or grind, two appropriately positioned opposing flats to fit an M8 or M10 open ended spanner.

Method 1)
Get an allen key and a drill bit that's just a tiny bit (>1mm) smaller than it. Drill a hole in the bolt a fair depth in. Gently hammer in the long part of the allen key. If you need to hit it more than a firm tap to make progress, your hole is too tight. If two digs buries it in ten mm, then it's too loose. Use adjustable spanner on the short part of the allen key to turn.

The hammering in of the allen key will also serve to help loosen the threads.

Method 2) Using an angle grinder with a very fine cutting disk, cut a slot in the head of the bolt. Place a screwdriver/small chisel in the slot and thump it with a hammer in an anti-clockwise direction.

The heat generated by the grinder will also help loosen the threads.

Try a heat source before any drilling. Then gently try and persuade it to move with a conventional screwdriver/chisel by tapping on the face at one edge, i.e 9 o'clock.

I shall try the Allen key thing, like the sound of that, I'm away at mo, anyone have a gash calliper bolt I could blagg or buy

Take your time with the drill. Last thing you need is to come out the side of the bolt and into the caliper mount :thumb

Remember......

Don't forget to copper grease the new bolt on reassembly.

Take it round to Jono and get roundly abused and laughed at as he gets it out within minutes:thumb

Mikey you're a star, I may well do that, I'm on course until end of feb so will be a couple of weeks if that's ok, much appreciated, gotta love this site at times :)

Jono, you're a star too mate, apols for no visits, I'm on a course in dat London and my head hurts :(

See you soon guys

Oh and all previous posters, I'm genuinely grateful for your posts and advice :)

Weld a large nut on top of what you have showing. Then a spanner along with the heat of the weld will remove it.

If this is your proposed route, make sure you disconnect the battery & alternator first...you need to avoid causing a spike which has been known to shag ecu's bats & alternators.
