Route calculation Error

When I down load a route and waypoints from mapsource to the GPS Unit , every thing downloads ok. BMW Nav 2

When I use the route on the unit which I have downloaded , and make a wrong turning , an Icon on the unit comes up and says Route Calculation error.!!!!!!!

Instead of re-calculating the route , the route clears from the screen with the Icon- ( Route calculation error still there. )

Does not happen on a downloaded waypoint if I take a wrong turning , it re-calculated automatically.

I have the same problem with my GPS V sometimes. If i miss a turn, and then turn round rather than waiting for it to recalculate, then I get the same message, and the route i'm navigating 'disappears' I actuallly sent it back to Garmin, but they couldn't replicate the problem so couldn't solve it. I does it once every 2 or 3 hundres miles I reckon.

The thing what puzzles me is this is another new unit replaced on warranty, and did not have the problem on the other unit.

How can they test for this error unles they use the unit in a car or motorcycle!!!

I unlocked the new unit into my existing map source, so I think I will try and download the discs supplied with the new unit

Sussed it out, its a faulty USB port connection.

Tried the data on my lap top , put a route in and deliberately went off route and it was ok.

Changed the USB port on the computer , did the same and it is ok.
