Just back from a romp round Europe.

Couple of issues I haven't had before.

I take it when planning a route even though a 590 and a 660 have the same maps they will plan a different route. In every case the 590 was longer.

Travelling along a autobahn the 660 would route me off the slip road then back onto the same motorway, did a similar thing routing out of Newcastle.

In a planned route from basecamp I couldn't find the route destination as the final waypoint in favourites.

In settings, only unpaved road was selected.

Thanks in advance :thumby:

Check that both devices are set to same in Navigation- ie Faster route or Shorter Route. Shorter route will do exactly what it says, and does indeed sometimes direct up a slip road and back onto motorway! Not much point in having "Shorter Route" selected if you are deliberately taking motorways really.

Thanks for your reply Roger, my GPS is set as fastest with off road as the only avoidance set, base camp is the same.

At least where we live in Austria Shortest Route is a waste of time. It just takes you off wonderful roads and onto goat tracks or through small villages.
