My old 2610 can be set to pick minor roads as a preference and avoid the A roads.

I can't seem to see anything like that on the Zumo 660. It's either fastest or shortest. The shortest route is not actually the shortest as it is avoiding all the lovely B roads that make a fairly straight "as the crow flies" route home.

Do I need to buy a faster bike now to keep up with this speeding traffic, or can you help me to plod along on the back roads :nenau:D

Try,

Menu, Tools, Settings, Navigation, Avoidances.

Disable Motorways, Toll roads etc.

Or make up your routes on a computer as I do and download them to the Zumo 660. This way you go exactly where you want to!

Tried the avoidance method.......no change :tears

As for planning the route on my computer, that's fine for big trips, but for small local ones it seems like a bit of a faf tbh.

Why Garmin didn't stick with the old selection of sliders to set your prefered routing method is beyond me. I guess they call it progress :nenau

TBH i never thought the sliders were very granular. had to be pretty much one end or the other to find any difference :nenau

is there a scenic option on the zumo, or am i imagining things?

Avoidances

Is there an answer to Flipfy's question. I was about to post the same question. Its a great tool on the 2610, and from an on the spot location can take on some roads you would never would have the time to find while out. To be honest I find this a huge miss, you can do it by way points on the spot but takes time, the 2610 is instant. If you were doing it by way points and pointing to the map, it always takes you back to your home location to start from, which means scrolling for ages. When away I have altered the home location, but is there away to set the zumo so that when entering new way point by pointing at map, it starts at the last way point you entered?
