Rox Risers

I used some Rox 2.25" anti vibe risers with no cable problems though I did need to re-route the throttle cable so it doesn't wrap around the handlebar.

Yes I use them and you just have to re route the cables.

Excellent piece of kit a very worthwhile modification if you dont get on with the standard se up :thumb2

Fitted mine at the weekend but am finding that the throttle cable is sticking occasionally on full left lock. Have had to order a new throttle cable upper as the little threaded retainer snapped off while I was trying to remove the cable from the throttle housing to run it under the bars. Not looking forward to working out how the throttle upper cable fits into the cable splitter box.

Ahh the anti vibe ones i see, where did you get them ? I was having a look but ffs £135 ??

Certainly look interesting, but will try grip puppies first - £15 a lot kinder on the wallet.

I re-routed the throttle cable so its not wrapped around the handlebar.

I also had minimal benefit from the anti vibe risers on the GS1200 though they had been really effective on my Diversion 900. That had a vibe patch smack in the normal motorway speed range so something had to be done.

BTW numb finger tips due to vibration (vibration white finger) are actual nerve and blood vessel damage in the fingers. Carpal Tunnel and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome are nerves getting compressed either by bones or over developed muscles.

Any biker (with normal finger blood supply) diagnosed with carpal tunnel should get a second opinion. TOS affects the same nerves causing similar symptoms and its common in bikers. Over developed scalene muscles in the neck caused by holding the head against wind blast or turbulence are a major cause of TOS. The forward posture of holding a head against the wind also affects the first rib mobility which can cause TOS.

Another point of compression is where the radial nerve goes through the wrist extensors. Knotty forearm muscles commonly affect the nerve. Deep tissue massage usually sorts that out but again its often misdiagnosed.

I have them on my 2008 GSA.

Just altered the existing cable ties and everthing works well. Cables still run their original route. Cables do go tight on full lock but no binding from full lock to lock and no touchy fuel tank. Bought them so I cold pull bars back to me a bit and because of the vibes.

Massive improvement and I love 'em.

Yes expensive but worth it:thumb

I might be wrong but if you pull the bars back towards you and route the throttle cable between the risers or behind them i dont think there would be much strain on them. But i could be talking bollocks :D:augie

Well ive taken the plunge and ordered the anti-vibe ones from NN. I will fit em as soon as they arrive. Bendy can you take a pic of how you routed the throttle cable please, id appreciate it,:bow cheers, Del

Im getting the old white finger after a hundred miles or so, are these risers worth it then whats the concensus??

I have already fitted grip puppies but still getting it more so on the right hand..

As I'm 6ft 6' I needed my handle bars much higher, especially when off road, standing up (R1200GSA). Very glad I got the Rox risers as it makes the ride much more comfortable for me. Had them for 4+ years now.
Can post some pics if you want.
