Was talking to fellow riders at work about the diference between an r1100rs an a r1100gs (not performance, but the bike itself) and it got me thinking, how to turn an rs into a gs!!!!!!
What would be needed? i know most peps will say just go out an buy one, but this is hyper wotzit feticcal!!!
My list so far:
Tank
seat
rear sub frame
exhaust
wheels
Handle bars/top brace

Anything else??

Wheel base, RS 1473 mm, GS 1509 mm
Ground clearance, RS 153 mm, GS 200 mm
Spring travel, RS 120/135 mm, GS 190/200 mm
Final drive ratio, RS 1:2.81, GS 1:3.00
Seat hight
to start with.

BAD IDEA:drool:drool:drool
Buy a GS.

must be a nottingham native.. all a bit odd round here.. trouble is: it's catching.

If you're going to make a GS.. the last thing it needs is the beak.. useless and pointless piece of plastic. actually no.. the only reason for the beak is it reduces somewhat the visual impact of a light bar. If you don't want one of them.. don't bother with the beak. less being more. :thumb2

Ya i'm Nottingham/Blidworth based, problem is i have an RS it came cheap, R reg for £1200it's a very nice bike, but, i'm 6ft 2 and riding it is a pain in the wrists, as i said we were disscussing the handlebars at work and it went from there, so while i'm waiting for my agency to find me some driving work i thought i would start this thread, if i could sell mine i would and buy another gs, but it's not an option at the moment

GOD I MISS MY GS!:tears

Or if i can find a damaged repairable or writeoff!!!!!!!!

I tried it but the cost of front end for the spoked wheels and taller shockes etc etc etc

BRILLIANT Bike but I wanted the longer travel suspension to do some trails over here Not that he GuR Ddin;t manage them okay Just that road suspension is tight over bumpy lanes

I also made a switch to power down the ABS unit cos it was a right fecker to get stopped if it switched on!
