Couple of days off in San Diego so rented an RS1200 from a guy through Twisted Road

Then rode this route up to Palomar Mountain then lunch in Julian followed by a ride back via Laguna Mountain then over to Coronado for a beer .
Did about 180 miles

Whilst stopped here , two guys rode past on an SDR 1290 and RSV. Both knee down . The guy on the 1290 waved with his right have whilst knee down . Quite cool .

Lake Henshaw

Julian

Nice and quiet for a change . They’re normally queuing out the door !!

Famous for its apple pie

Popped over to Coronado for a beer. This is looking back at San Diego.

The RS was pretty good . Had bar risers fitted . Nice riding position . Smooth GSAP.
Crap almost unreadable LCD display.

Cost about $120 all in for the day which is half what you pay normally from a bigger company like Eagle Rider etc plus you get a wider choice of bikes .

Will ride over to Coronado Island for brek tomorrow at my favourite old fifties diner then drop the bike back with the owner .

Short and sweet

That Palomar Mountain is probably the best road around there. Rode it tonnes.
Is Hotel Coronado still in decent shape?
Tijuana?? lol
Ensenada is a decent run. Great fish tacos too 😎

I'd love to go to San Diego some day.
Maybe cross the border, but probably not?

That was boxerlust he mentioned in his opening post test riding the KTM SDR 1290 😝
Cant have been Boxer lust wouldn't be seen dead on a slow bike like the 1290SDR - he would have been on his GS with his elbow down whilst knitting a pair of socks
