My brother is a Rokker Fanboi and waxes lyrical about how comfortable their jeans are. Great, I'll get some for pootling around in the summer on the C90 and low speed warm weather short hops.
Then I had a look at other companies offerings and saw the RST X kevlar single layer jeans for £128. They are CE AA rated, the same as rokker.

I tried the RST Techpro level 2 jeans (AAA) on recently but they were feckin awful, the level 2 hip armour was horrendously uncomfortable and they were thick and heavy. Sportsbike shop didnt have the single layers in my size unfortunately so didn't get to try them on.

The RST single layers are Aramid VS Rokker using UHMPWE. Aramid as a thread is a bit heavier, UHMPWE is lighter and more UV resistant. But at a third the price of the Rokker jeans I'm inclined to just order a pair with some D3o Ghost pads to see what they are like. I'm well aware that beauty is in the eye of the person who has emptied their wallet which tends to skew impartiality but has anyone tried the RST's and if so any negatives? My inner Yorkshireman is now whispering UHMPWE jeans shouldn't be that much more expensive than Aramid and ROKKER are taking the pi$$ but until I've tried them I'll remain curious!

Depending on your shape, I think the John Doe Strocker Cargo takes some beating. Resurgence and Halvarrsons jeans good too.
Didn’t care for the RST single layer.
Regardless, single layers are most comfortable.
As you’ve alluded to though - opinions are very subjective.

Great thanks for the replies guys. I like and have a bit of halvarsons kit so will check out their jeans too. Do the bull-it jeans have adjustable knee armour pockets? That was a feature I like about the RST's as being a skinny guy I find getting armour in a comfortable position can be a challenge with some kit and usually just wear impact shorts if I want hip protection.

I’ve recently bought a pair of Roadskin Taranis jeans. AAA rated & they throw in a pair of summer gloves. I bought them to replace a pair of RST’s I’ve had a few year but are a bit baggy now I’ve lost a bit of weight. The Roadskins are comfy with loads of stretch in them & I find the armour comfortable but they will be hot in the really nice weather but I’ve got mesh jeans for those few days!

The Bull-it jeans have a small range of adjustment in the knee armour pockets, but the hips are fixed. I also found the sizing to be a bit generous, and went down a waist size. Leg length is spot on.

Rokker are very comfortable and smart/casual. The untrained eye wouldn't even know they were bike jeans. The armour is totally unnoticable. Suppose to be water resistant too. Never tested in anger though.

Jaysus haven't been a 28/ 29 " waist since Madness released baggy trousers 😀😀

The Rokker Revolution are 100% waterproof . The Rokkertech are 100% not waterproof

Any one interested in my tosser sized jeans

I have the RST Pro Kevlar Jeans and they are very "secure" feeling with all the armour, but yes, they are a bit heavy and warm if you're walking around on a hot day.

I believe its these: https://www.megamotorcyclestore.co.uk/rst-x-kevlar-tech-pro-ce-mens-regular-jeans-black-updating/

I got them from Sportsbikestore in Leeds.
I have the Oxford single layer jeans with armour they are comfy but not ride to work and sit all day comfy the weave is a bit stiff

Tried the RST Tech pro and the Oxford dynamic single layer jeans yesterday. Unfortunately both fit like a tattie sack and were way too baggy but the oxfords were a much nicer jean with more comfortable armour. As above they felt a bit stiff but I wondered if this would give a bit over time with a few washes as with regular jeans? If they were available in a 28 they may have worked and at a very reasonable price.

I've got some Bull-it's on order to try, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order some Rokkers to try on at the same time.

After 2 pairs of Resurgence Voyager jeans, which are great quality, but thick and heavy, I recently bought some Bullit Covert Evo Straight Covec jeans from Sportsbike in the clearance sale
£90, had to send the first pair back 36 waist too baggy, 34's perfect
Level 2 hip and knee protectors. Rated AAA
Says water resistant finish but these are for the hotter days
Very comfy

Another one for Roadskin AAA jeans, got that same deal and I recently bought another pair as they are the most comfortable and properly fitting jeans I've had, all day riding comfortable with very good knee and hip armour that just moulds to you 👍👍

Tried the Bull-it Covec single layer jeans agains the Rokkers and there was no contest in fit and comfort BUT that was mainly down to the Rokkers fitting me really well, just like my regular jeans. The Bull-it's were just too baggy round the thighs so I suspect in a slide the armour would move.

The 29" Rokkers are a slightly heavier fabric than my regular jeans but not massively so and feel soft and very comfy and the ghost armour is barely noticeable. I'm not happy about the cost but after trying 4 other pairs of jeans, none if which fit remotely as well as the Rokkers, I'm justifying the extra cost by reasoning they will offer better protection in an off by being a very close fit without being skin tight. I would have been happy with the Oxford jeans had they fit me properly. Thanks for your input and suggestions!
