My brother is a Rokker Fanboi and waxes lyrical about how comfortable their jeans are. Great, I'll get some for pootling around in the summer on the C90 and low speed warm weather short hops.
Then I had a look at other companies offerings and saw the RST X kevlar single layer jeans for £128. They are CE AA rated, the same as rokker.
I tried the RST Techpro level 2 jeans (AAA) on recently but they were feckin awful, the level 2 hip armour was horrendously uncomfortable and they were thick and heavy. Sportsbike shop didnt have the single layers in my size unfortunately so didn't get to try them on.
The RST single layers are Aramid VS Rokker using UHMPWE. Aramid as a thread is a bit heavier, UHMPWE is lighter and more UV resistant. But at a third the price of the Rokker jeans I'm inclined to just order a pair with some D3o Ghost pads to see what they are like. I'm well aware that beauty is in the eye of the person who has emptied their wallet which tends to skew impartiality but has anyone tried the RST's and if so any negatives? My inner Yorkshireman is now whispering UHMPWE jeans shouldn't be that much more expensive than Aramid and ROKKER are taking the pi$$ but until I've tried them I'll remain curious!
