Is there an easy way to fit a lead onto the battery for an accessory ? or do I have to remove the battery ? looks a pain in the arse to do, unlike the older RT TC.

I don't think you need to completely remove the battery, just slide it out enough to get at the negative (from memory). A bit fiddly but I've done it twice to get power to a horn and battery charger/accessory socket.

As above. Tis a doddle. The cover won't fit back properly though with that stupid stud into rubber grommety thing which justs pops back out. i've got bmw trying to sort that out right now!!

Pulling power from the battery for an accessory is a doddle and you don't need to move the battery!
Slightly to the front of the battery is a battery jumper post. This unscrews to allow a connector to be slipped under it to draw power. You can connect a negative anywhere on the metal frame of the bike, there are loads of possibilities for that.
Be aware that you must put a fuse in as close to the connection as you can.
Simples!
