Hi all hope yoour making the most of the good british weather out there of late. Im after some advice i have 2009 rt purchased not to long ago great bike but one thing.is bugging the hell out of me to the point where im riding my other bikes and ignoring it a bit and that is the screen its standard if i have it any lower then half way im blasted in the face if i have it up i have the line of the top of the screen right in my field of vision which does not sound like a major issue but i just find it really annoying.
I know there are lots.of previous threads on this but there older ones so thought id just ask fresh a lot seems to point towards the "werks quiet ride" screen being a great alternative but they dont sell them in the uk, anyone know or can suggest a uk alternative? Hopefully with experiance of using the product.
Ideally i want to.have the screen lower so i can see over it (best for vision) and it has an uplip that throws air up an over me.
Cheers in advance the gser forum has been a great help with other bike related matters 👍

The Werks screens are no longer being made, but you may find one 2nd hand.
I’d tried 4 different screens on my 2018RT before I found my Werks screen on the ‘For sale’ section here, and it has been on the bike continuously since, summer and winter.
You could also try the model specific RT forum https://1200rt.com
Best of luck with your search.

I have a Ztechnic Vscreen on my R1200RT. It is designed to create a bubble of still air around you and your passenger.

I find that it works very well and is much quieter than the standard OEM screen.

Cheers steve that explains why i was having so much trouble finding one good to know they work well though. Gorila ill check those you mentioned when i get home. Funily enough in fully up position the wind deflection is great only problem is in this weather when you get a bubble of still air you roast and want a bit of breese on you haha cant win sometimes.

I have the same on my 1150RT .
Far superior to the original screen fitted .

I have this one for sale, any use?

Cheers i did see that on ebay but read into them and i dont think its going to solve my issue want something with a bit ofna lip on the top that sends the air up an over, i got an mra screen on my old gs that works great looks like a slab but suits the gs wouldnt work on the rt but cheers for dropping me a message that tinted one would certainly improve the look of the bike in the summer months 👍

Yeah i checked them out last night after the previous mention id never heard of them, they certainly cost a fair whack, seem to come in a couple of sizes what do you have on yours? Can you ride with the screen in the low position and see over the screen without getting blasted by wind?

Haven’t a clue what size it is, I bought it second-hand off the forum .. yes I can ride with the screen down, mist of the wind gets deflected over my head,

Thats the kinda thing im after but thats for 14 plate onwards......spose i could upgrade the bike lol
I have an Aero screen on my 1150Gs. It was on the bike when I bought it and it got right in the way of my eye line, exactly as you described. It was fine on straight roads but when it came to bends I found myself uncomfortable, and trying to look over it. When I checked the website it turned out the screens came in 3 sizes, and the one fitted to my bike was ‘high’

So I taped it up, measured and marked it to their ‘standard’ height and cut about two inches off the top. The difference was amazing, I can now see perfectly well and the screen has remained comfortable. Unfortunately they are no longer available for my bikes (1150 Gs and RT) but they may be available for yours. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

funny enough when i brought the bike the guy before had one of those in the box of spares he gave me, a good one too, but i tried it on and it was just right in my eye line, its kind of a kin to driving with some massively oversized air freshener on your rear view mirror in the car, you can still see the road but your just that little bit off focus. i think one of these aftermarket screens with a built in uplift will be the one, just have to find one now, scour ebay and hope i dont buy more bikes while on there haha

not many RT riders here.

you are better off posting here

The screen is 66 centimetres tall and is made by Z Technic and is their V Stream model. See pic.
Hey phil, looks pretty good that found a bit of info about them, seem good reviews any major marks on it at all? Mine an 09 rt what year is that for i think they changed at 12 or 14
