RTLC ICONIC

Before buying a new bike most people would find out the cost that the insurance was going to be, as in " I won't be buying that bike because I won't be able to afford the insurance ".

I think some people who already own a 1200RT were not anticipating the "hike" that the bikes paint job involves with some insurers.

Sorry, but as you stated on another forum, you don't have a garage or a drive, you have only been riding for 2-3 years, what do you expect? Would be the same if you were trying to insure an expensive car if you were a new driver and didn't have a garage or drive. Best sell the bike to me for a hefty discount and wait a couple of years :-)

I did expect it to be high ... Just not that high!

It is kept under cover and underneath the building with an alarmed disk lock and factory fitted alarm.

It is also monitored 24hrs a day by cctv cameras.

Of course none of this matters much with an insurance quote.

panniers tops etc protected by invisi shield by any chance?

Absolutely.

Think it was venture shield ... But no doubt the same thing

Saw it at Vines last week, very nice, so nice, I bought one too, picking up next Sunday. Don't know which number yet.

a bargain at a mere £19,000!

nice colour, but that's a hell of a lot of money to drop on one bike.

you could get a lovely used twin-spark RT and still have money leftover for a decent sports bike.. and 3 holidays!

R1200RT Iconic arrived

Now arrived number 92:D

Now arrived number 92:D

No 29 of 100 in my garage as of last Tuesday.
I took it to Bodyguard UK in Daventry on Friday & had it fitted with 3m Ventureshield.
It took three hours because the chap fitting it is a perfectionist, which as a customer is not a bad thing, & he did cover every single square inch of the red paintwork, even inside the radiator intakes.
He has now done five of these, with one more booked in, so he's well practiced by now.

Sounds cool. love to see a pic of that. Trouble is doing that has probably devalued his bike when he comes to trade it in. Unless a private buyer falls in love with it, and pays the asking price.

Picture of said K1600GT. I did pull the owners leg, because he's no David Bailey.
As I pointed out to him, we live in a beautiful county, with many picturesque villages that would make a nice background; so he chooses B & Q's car park:blast

The paintwork on this one was also done by 8Ball.
