The new 2025 Kalix 3 is the cheapest Goretex laminated jacket (and pants) that Rukka make.

Half the price of the Nivala

It’s £699.99 but that can be brought down to about £570 once you do the price match shuffle .

I’m sure it’ll be a good jacket but there are other alternatives out there.
I bought a Bering Hurricane jacket in one of Motolegends Sunday sales for half price.
The full price is £600 ish so similar to the new Kalix, but for me the fit and design of the Hurricane is better than my previous Nivala and it’s also 100% waterproof.
We rode in October for about 5 hours in torrential rain and I was bone dry. The Nivala would have produced a few small damp patches.
So whilst it’s good that Rukka can make a jacket for semi-sensible money, there are other options out there.

Would much rather the non goretex one for a few bob more.
The Kemi.
(Armatou-R in the rest of the world)

Some bang for the buck with that jacket.

Although.... Rev'it Vertical GTX still hard to beat for Goretex value.

I’ve just purchased a Kalix2 for £520 . Not tested yet . Both are a double laminate , but the Kalix 3 has increased material crash protection .
AFAIK , neither have back protectors included and neither get the lovely duck down inner liner .

That's pretty good.

Personally I use an air vest so don't want a back protector and the lovely down inners on the Nivala never get worn because I either put a light weight cycling Gore-Tex jacket over the Nivala or else if it's that cold the heated jacket underneath. Touring abroad in summer I wear a Forcefield mesh jacket with the airbag vest and just put the cycling rain layer on when it gets wet. I just prefer not having to haul the Nivala, or any other, thick jacket when touring.

Will look at the Kalix for UK (y)

the price of the Nivala

Previously, I was a Rukka fan. But considering you can buy made-to-measure Hideout textiles for a similar price, you’d be daft to buy a Nivala. Hideout is better in virtually every respect.

I’ve just received a Kalix 3.0. It doesn’t feel like other Rukka jackets ok, more expensive ones. It’s rustles and just feels cheap and quite thin. £700 might be cheap for a Rukka but it’s expensive compared to some jackets. I’m returning it and looking at others

Have a look at the Lindstrands range (a Halvarssons sub brand) hard to beat for value for money.

I'm still tempted by the Madagasca-R but i see so many new models on the Rukka website.
Would like to order on line as FC moto have a gewat 30% off RRP deal but i cant get anywhere easy to try one on. My current Rukka size is a 56......so do I just take the risk and if it doewsnt fit send it back? Probably......
