Morning all

Looking for recommended repairers for an older (12 yrs) Rukka jacket
Still in very good condition except for the main zip which has failed.
Quick search only brought up a couple of old (2015/16) references to LSR?

Thank in advance
Terry

If you contact Moto Legends, they sent my Rivala jacket off when the zip broke. The repair was excellent and you wouldn’t know it had been touched. I think it cost me about £70.

I had a zip go on a nivala jacket and sending it back to Rukka was going to take months before I would get it back, TraNam passed me the details for the below.

The put me an updated zip on the jacket and you wouldn’t even tell it’s been replaced and it wasn’t expensive, it was delivered back in the same week.

Hill4leather are excellent. Motorcycle clothing is their specialty. Everything I’ve had done by them was first class.

I used Yvette a while ago when I lived in Cheltenham. She used to be based in Charlton Kings but is in Springbank now according to Google maps. https://www.seamsrite.co.uk/about_2.html
She has a team of seamstresses with different skills dotted about the area.
I had a main zip replaced in a 10 year old Hein Gericke Cruise Goretex jacket. Probably a decade ago and I was wearing the jacket today on my ride over the Ceri Ridge. Cost me £40, so a worthwhile investment extending the life of an excellent jacket.

It might help the OP, if he gave an approximation of his home address. This might save bods recommending their excellent local seamstress in Inverness, when the fellow hangs his hat in Penzance.

Fair comment, I be in Gloucestershire.
That said, there are quite a few useful links in the previous replies and I suspect with ease of shipping stuff around these days, might be better to go with someone with proven competence with this sort of gear.

Have you had your eyes tested lately? It says Gloucestershire next to his name in the first post. Hence why I recommended someone I used in Cheltenham.

I take no notice of those. Ever since I recommended a route “No motorways” to a bod who wanted to go all the way to the south east of France, who gave the impression he lived in Portsmouth, when in fact lived closer to Norwich. Shame, as it was a nice route I offered up, too.

In which case, I’d definitely recommend Hideout, near Saffron Walden.

LOL, funnily enough the eyes do need some testing, not to mention the final drive to my head seems to be overdue a service or better still replacement :)

Cheers Wessie, had a word and popping over later to see what she can do for me.

Morning all, just to update with the outcome.
Yvette was very responsive and asked for some pictures of the zip, based on which she was quickly able to determine that she could not help me.
A few calls to some other recommended names pointed me in the direction of Hill4leather based on timescales as well as he had clearly done the job before and was even able to tell me the obscure brand of the existing zip.
Job will be done next week - £60 + vat for the zip replacement and a £12 delivery charge. Getting a few other minor repairs done at the same time.
Thanks to all for their input.
