Rukka ultrafit gloves £139.99

I went down to infinity last week and had a look at these - way too rich for my budget but I wanted to see what £140 gloves were like.

This is the surprising bit - infinity touted them as a winter glove - however other than this new goretex lining - ultrafit or something it had no warm e.g. thinsulate lining so what's the point of them.

They had some armour over the knuckles but surely your hands would freeze in this country?

Anyone got them tried and what did they think

You'd get more out of your heated grips with no insulation.

I've got a pair.

They are the best fitting gloves I've ever had by far. Perfect fit all over.

They work fine as a winter glove only if you have heated grips. Without heated grips, I'd say they'd go down to about 5 deg c. This is what the chap in Infinity said as well, so I guess its just a little difference of opinion there. You could use silk inner gloves as well if you dont have heated grips, or its silly cold. One ride in Dec showed -6.5 deg c on the on bord comp. With liners, heated grips on full, and a Gerbing heated jacket, I was warm and toasty all over. Could have ridden all day at that temp - and that is saying an awful lot really about the quality of the kit we get nowadays.

They have really good feel too. I used to think my Aerostich elk skin ropers were brilliant, but these are better.

As for protection, I am in the uneviable position of having had a 50mph 'off with these gloves in Oct. I slid down the road for about 40' (I think, no idea really), most of it on my front with my hands balled into fists, knuckles out, just under the chin of my helmet - so all on the knuckle protection. There are two scuffs on each glove, smaller than a penny. Im happy with that.

£140 is a lot of money, but I reckon I'll be wearing these gloves for about 9 months of a year for the next five years.

i suspect in summer they maybe too hot.

Interesting to note that they had insulating properties down to 5 deg. With the spade glove at £44 its difficult to justify spending £100 more - well for me,not too mention finding the £100 in the first place.

I think they probably would be a mite too warm for a summer glove, but I may well wear them anyway. They also fit perfectly into the sleeves of my Armax jacket creating a water amd wind proof seel.

I was ok spending that amount as Im a bit of a Rukka tart

Don't mess about with silk inner gloves get a pair of handle bar muffs, I know
they don't look much but they work!. especially with heated grips. A lot cheaper than £139.00. gloves.
