I've been considering investing in some top quality kit, as there are some good end of season deals to be had right now, and having researched it to death over the last few weeks seem to be leaning towards either the Rukka Armax or Allroad suits.

Given the price of this stuff I don't really want to get it horribly wrong so can anyone provide any feedback, either positive or negative, on these products.

Steve.

IMHO....... Yep I have ridden allyear round for too long in all weathers and can say Rukka is the only near waterproof kit I have found.I have surfed the Tarmac in it too many times and it has always served me well. If you can stretch to it there gloves are beaut but £200 for the short cuff ones :tears that I then dropped on a hot exhaust!! Truly good kit and lasts well hope this helps.

Yes to Rukka. If you can absorb the initial purchase price you won't regret it, there's not much else on the market that even gets close to it.

I've used it in all weathers mostly in Spring, Summer, Autumn without complaint, but my Brother commutes from Hampshire into central London every day, year round and would tell you it's never let a drop in.

Yes it's worth it. I ride every day, all weathers. My rukka kit is the armax and it's just over 4yrs old. On occaision it has leaked and zips/Velcro have gone through wear and tear. Rukka always repair or replace for 5yrs, so as a result my kit is almost brand new. Taking that into account my £1000 investment is only probably going to cost £170/yr, which you'd easily spend on lesser kit.

However if your a fashion tart that has to have gear to match the bike / season / time-of-month etc, it ain't for you.

If you use the SEARCH button, you'll find literally hundreds of threads about Rukka....try that and have a good read, you'll get an awful lot more info :)

Absolutely, yes to Rukka kit. It's fantastic, albeit expensive. Given the BBQ summer we've had, I don't think I've worn anything esle this year! Two trips to Scotland have been particularly wet and I've certainly stayed dry in my Rukka kit. Not tested its crash resistance, though.

I'm also looking to buy a Rukka SRO ANATOMIC Gore-Tex jacket & trousers.

Tell me people were did you buy your kit from please?? A UK-supplier or travel to Germany for good exchange rate deal/cheaper??

I've been looking at Infinity motorcycles, went in tried on the kit got talking and negotiated a good deal on the Allroad jacket, also on eBay Bikex are selling off Armax kit on buy it now or best offer, £700 was the lowest I got them down to on the jacket, and finally this place, very competitive even with exchange rates not being as good as they have been.

I think I'm going for the Allroad jacket from Infinity, as they don't stock the trousers I'll shop around on t'internet for those.

Rukka

If you can bear the thought at the NEC Infinity's useually sell end of line rukka gear, put on to this by the Rukka stand! got a new jacket previous model for £249! so have alook ore ask Infinitys.
had the current jacket since 1997 been all over the worls and many miles bit faded in the sun but red tat suits get worse than this in two years!. Ca.'t beat rukka so don't worry get one.

Rukka

I have the Armax suit & the Xtrafit gloves

Never lets a drop in ! :beerjug::beerjug:

I have the APR3 airvantage bought in 2004 and apart from a few zip issues(tags break) its been fine and very waterproof ( the odd leak through layering mistakes at the cuffs and waist) and very versatile. Over 80,000 miles of happy miles in all weather:thumb2

I've got to start looking again soon and Rukka will be the very top of the wish list.

rukka

just taken delivery of an sro. It looks and feels the part anyway . But then it should . Time will tell how it performs . 1440 eu it ended up at , delivered exc vat.

Rukka is excellent kit and the 5 year guarantee seals the deal :thumb2

Bought the Rukka Steel Jacket a couple of years ago in Germany for 349 Euro's.

I can't afford to spend vast sums of money on kit, but where I can I try to buy the best I can and that'll keep me for a good few years.

I ain't got no complaints, it's never let me down in the wet or in the cold :thumb2

No IMO.
They are good. Very good. But that much better than other makes? I don't think so.
When it comes to replacing my Rukka (2.5 stone down on when I bought it, another 2.5 to go!) I certainly won't be shelling out for another one.
My money will go elsewhere in Scandinavia.

having lost a bit of weight myself, my rukka is somewhat on the huge side.

i will be buying another, smaller one in due course. never seen anything that comes close, except perhaps bmw streetguard, but that only has a measly 2 year warranty.

mine is 3 or 4 years old, has never leaked, and was tested only last saturday in 100 miles of torrential rain last saturday on the way back from switzerland :thumb2

ps. budget for their technical underwear too. stops damp from the inside, is warm/cool as required, and improves comfort greatly :)

Had a look at the new HG MASTER V GORE-TEX PRO SHELL JACKET which also has a 5 year warranty and was offered 10% off without any haggling straight away but still will probably head for scandanavian kit for my next purchase.

Ok, i'll ask ...wtf is the hairy Bikers thing about as i have never watched it

Never seen the jacket before today so popped it up as an alternative to the Rukka kit for opinions as i was quite impressed by it and its made of a kevlar weave hence the strange look to the outer layer ;)
