Running a Heated Jacket from a G650X

The fan was on a lot ... you have to allow for that. I dont know what wattage the fan is, but when it comes on, it sucks a huge amount of power. "

I run a Widder with no problem obviously.
Why not just buy the battery and run it off that?
Battery will last a full day on low setting, and it means you have no wires to get snagged whilst offroading or rippped out when you come off.
(Clearly I'm assuming your bike sees dirt, apologies if not).
Good question - I have bought the battery. In off-tarmac events you can indeed be on and off the bike frequently, intentionally or otherwise
But it would be nice to have a back-up, because the main reason I've bought the vest is to use it in MCC trials, the next one being the Exeter on 7th/8th January when I expect to be in the saddle for about 15 hours. It won't be warm, so I'll be running the vest at a higher setting. Will the battery last?
One answer is to carry a second battery but it's another thing to buy and carry.

The generator puts out 280w but only about 90 of that is free, the rest goes back into the bike. Heated gloves and vest are asking a lot of these little generators.
Run a heated jacket and heated grips (Oxford) on my XC, also fitted with 100/80W headlight bulb .... no problems

Gerbing Heated Jacket consumes 77W so current draw is:
6.4A @ 12V / 5.5A @ 14V
6.4A @ 12V / 5.5A @ 14V
