Just been quoted £184 for a running in service on my R1250GS Adventure, does this sound right? I thought I'd read it was about £60 :nenau

I think I paid something like that. The first year is £300+.

As a tight Yorky I think everything about biking is getting expensive nowadays. :blast

I only paid about £80, in October 23, that's just for the oils etc. Think it all depends upon the dealer you bought from.

the engine oil alone will be over £60, more like £75!

Add filter, sump plug washer and FD oil and you are approaching £100.

Leaving £84 for labour, bearing in mind a lot of places are charging £100 or more an hour.

Just had the 2 year 12000 mile service with valve clearance check done on my 1250GS
Oil was 4 litres at a cost of £72 +vat
Filter £15.47 +
Just those 2 come to nearly £105

Not from a main dealer.

i think you have the wrong bike .

what you need is a scooter from china.

your choices are .... cheap and cheerful , and throw it away after 3 years .

or a quality product that costs money to look after , and don't bitch about the cost , it was your choice .

and this boys and girls , is why mechanics should never meet the punters , cos the punters get told the truth , in a way that there is no mistaking what they are saying.

Battersea BMW £175/hr .

I think you've got the complete wrong end of the stick, I'm not/have not moaned about the price. Double checking the price to make sure I'm not being fleeced, and moaning about the price are two different things. I'm doing the former, I have no problem paying that price if that's the going rate :thumb2

I am just about to have the 12000 mile service (major) and its been quoted as £500

My mates Yamaha Tracer 9 GT is £100 MORE than my BMW R1250 GSA 2019 for the same major service

I thinks thats a fantastic price

I think you will find its probably mostly Labour charges (must be £80 per hour I reckon)
