Heading for a 20 pager….zzzzz
Ooop's no I didn't.
I'll get my coat.
I doubt that many coppers will have trawled through that document though, they leave that to lawyers etc.
The yellow light doesn't stand out more.
Other drivers would be susceptible by intensity, not really the colour of a light. And the white to yellow difference would be negligible.
This is my last post on this.
So if you stood a cricketer wearing yellow in the middle of a cricket pitch full of players wearing white, you wouldn't notice it?
Also begs a question why safety vests are not white, but yellow or orange instead.
They will never prosecute you anyway, take it to court plead not guilt, the CPS prosecuter will have too much on that day and drop it.

Ah see that's where your are wrong, You get a ticket for light offences and the evidence that it was showing/working/not working is all that is required, e.g. On Day Date Time and place, vehicle index xxxxx was seen driving on public highway displaying illuminated lights red/green/blue etc to the Front/side/rear, you would have to prove that it is permissible to show it for what ever reason, since it is a non endorsable fine I have never known anyone to fight it, have known vehicles to be PG9 i.e. immediately put off the road until the fault rectified, in which case owner normally just cuts the wires and disables the stuff ( normally coloured led lights under and around the vehicle ) then gets a VDRS ticket to go to mot station and get examined to prove that the offending article has been repaired or removed etc.
this is really a pointless discussion anyway, Red/Green/Blue lights (and shades thereof are specifically prohibited as for use by emergency vehicles, Amber is for breakdown/recovery/road maintaince vehicles and one or two other special) so that only leaves yellow and white which is what has already been mentioned, and before some clown mentions it, stated case law has already decided that Pink is a shade of red, and purple a shade of blue etc and equaly prohibited for use on any vehicle other than emergency, although the most likely to get nicked are boy racers with Neon lights all over the place, the neon lights is normally just the starting point before going to town on the rest of the stuff in/on the vehicle that does not conform to con and use regs.
Gentlemen,
2021 BMW R1250 GS Adventure.
I've fitted White lensed Denali D2's under the beak as additional daytime running lights, controlled by a Denali CanSmart. I rarely ride at night.
So far I have activated all the CanSmart extras such as 1) automatically switching off the on side D2 so as not to obscure the front indicator when in use. 2) Strobing both D2's when the horn is used. 3) D2's turn on/off in opposition to the hazard lamps.
I've read the law on the matter as supplied by 'bowser' (thanks you bowser) and to say it is somewhat complicated for the layman would be an understatement. How can one get a definitive answer regarding legality, anybody know?
On the practical side of life the lights are superb, moreover IMHO safety is greatly improved. Our 4 wheel friends definitely see me coming well in advance regardless of ambient light conditions and I only operate the lights at 50% power.
Just out of interest, what about the flashing / strobe lights ( front and back ) on bicycles.?
Most bobbies on the beat dont spend much time on specific traffic stuff, traffic departments have all be decimated and now nearly allways do dual carriageway/motorway type stuff, plus in a lot of forces traffic are also twin jobbed as firearms officers so if any firearms jobs on then no traffic police at all, everyone else is just too busy doing really important stuff like reporting kids in school for hate crime because they called each other nasty names, or reports of people being called Sir or Madam, Mr or Mrs when they self identify as a gender neutral teapot, in a non binary relationship
Traffic policing seems to have been abandoned to camera detected stuff and nothing else.
same answer as above they are illegal, but who out there is going to stop them or really care?.
.
Coloured lighting is for fairground rides and clown cars...Take from that what you like.
And lorry drivers
Wow, every bicycle I see in low light situations has a very bright front strobe light at least.... So these are illegal ?
Not always. If they are attached to the bike then technically they are illegal, but if they are fastened to your clothing or helmet then there are no regulations to cover that and so are not illegal.
