Ok guys i moved the tank back on my 2001 Y reg 1150gs to give me room to fit some engine bars. I tried to start the bike today and its will not idle and is spluttering everywhere and the clock goes back to Zero. I fixed the clock and tried to start it, again spluttering and the clock goes back to zero.

OK WHOSE turn is it to post the throttle cable fix ??????

It's also been known to be at splitter end as well

Check your throttle cables are seating properly into the recepticles where they're supposed to on boths sides
Thats at the throttle bodies AND at the splitter under the battery

Should be it! Oh and Maybe yer battery needs a charge cos it's digging deep to turn the bike over???

Thought my world was at an end this morning when I had the spluttering symptoms described here. Typed in "spluttering" and all was well again within 2 mins! Had been playing under the tank.
