I was out on a 100 mile run on my GS1200 ADV, bike ran perfectly. I travelled through the town where i live and pulled into fuel up. After paying for the petrol and throwing my leg over the bike, i went to start it, it back fired and blew off the offside injector (rhs when sitting on it) thus running on one cylinder. I popped it back on with the pliers and the original clip. The bike ran on that one cyl for 1 mile to get home.. I took the plugs out to dry the tips of them and refitted them. It still will not fire up on two cylinders, why??

I know that the bike can do this when the cylinder comes to rest on the compression stroke and is rare to happen......

What cam adrift? was it the whole injector body?
Maybe the Canbus has a safety mechanism try checking all the connections and disconnect the battery for an hour.

will if be bad for the engine running it only on one cyl ? i did on my one for about 10miles to get the bike home but it seem it fun fine now after i fix it.
