My O2 sensor sooting up and caked. I did clean the outer nodule but not; if required through the small holes. Should I soak it?
Need to check buying another (some have mentioned alternatives to the OEM sensor). From where?

New air filter installed.

Changed the TB bushes to stop rattling so no doubt they will be out of sync but, this sooting up was there previously.

Removed motronic fuse and relay to try and reset but to no avail.

Standard exhaust with decat Y-piece.
Most of the problem is at low rpm.

Hope soon to get it to an indie technician for a good mechanical service soon.

Translation needed ...... i'm also curious about what you intend soaking it with.

It was a comment only.
I do not know what the inside of the sensor looks like.
Assuming the holes are there to allow air through for measurement and due to the cover caked in soot, maybe the inside is as well.
I assume soaking to dissolve any sediment and flush out.

I would also intend soaking in a liquid that I cannot drink .

Not electrically with a tester. Just set it to approximately the original location.
I think there is something on YouTube showing how to do it.

If you don;t have a Multimeter that you are confident is correct just buy a half decent new one or borrow one

Back probe the positive cable of the multimeter to the rear most wire on the TPS connector

Multimeter to 20 Volts DC

Connect the negative lead to the battery negative

Switch on ignition

Check fast idle lever is OFF

and check reading zero point four volts is acceptable but zero point 38 is better

If you need to adjust slacken the screws lightly

Note a Very slight adjustment on the tps makes a marked change in value so go easy!!

Once you have your value snug the screws and double check your reading a couple of times by flicking the throttle open and closed slowly

The TPS is what tells the ECU the butterfly angle and therefore how much air is going in the motor

So the Calc of air temp, Engine temp and air flow (Throttle Angle) is how the magic works
