RUST REMOVAL from Petrol Gauge/Fuel Pump Mounting Plate R1150GS advise needed

Hello,

Could somebody advise how to remove the rust without putting everything apart?
Basically, can i dip it into something for a few days without damaging electrics?
Can i poor something to the tank with the plate and electrics in without damaging anything?

Maybe you could try scraping off the rust with a wire brush, then give it a spray or dab of acf50...it should provide some protection.

There used to be a product called Jenolite I have used ( 20 plus years ago. It was a combined corrosion stopper/ inhibitors/ primer. You just used to paint it on. Ideal for your job, hers a quick google of their current product
