or is it something else ? Noticed it today,and thought I would try and get some other ideas before I pop into the dealers...... :eek:

well that one, is nothing new just get it replaced on warranty, i am after my second timing chain cover as it is beginning to look like that again
 
A typical corrosion fault. Get the cover replaced under warranty, then remove the bolts one at a time and paint the threads of the bolts in 'Duralac' or 'Starbrite' and screw back in to prevent it reoccurring.

The corrosion occurs beneath the paint, where water has penetrated into the threads of the bolt holes and reacted between the steel bolts and alloy metal cover (the threads in it are unpainted hence the corrosion).
