UK again Pah!..
I notice my fork legs are starting to show little spots of rust below the wiper line, anyone else noticed this yet?

Anyone getting close to the 70 hour service yet? My is rapidly looming and I have no idea what I am going to do.

EDIT - G450X

no rust on my 450, but then again it's only 27 hours.
i do clean it (almost) after every ride. dirtbike cleaner, compresssed/high speed water(don't know the englisch word) water, and finisch with silicon spray for the engine and frame, wd 40 for the plastick parts.

About the 70 hours...........
The spanish Man who rode the Africa rce did some whta around 140 hours, and only changed oil and filters during the race.

Are you sure this is not a 1200 you are talking about!!

Good point about the Dakar rider, and I suspect his 140 odd hours or more were harder than mine. Really the only issue is loosing the warranty at 70 hours or spending the equivalent to another (used) bike on the work :(

When or if my bikes gets to 70 hrs, If the work costs a fortune at the main dealers then I wont do it and bank that cash for when the bike shits itself.

At the end of the day you could probably rebuild it for a grand if it detonates.

My bike is only used on green lanes, so it doesnt suffer the stresses of a race bike.

every mx men/women i now cleans there bike.
it always the öffroaders"green laners how ride en put it away without cleaning.
My bike gets dirty, it's cost me about 2 hours to clean the MF.
lots of water, therefore the siliconspray, you just see the water dripping away.
When cleaning you can see/inspect a lot of things, so you won't be surprised on the next ride.

Agreed, cleaning is a great way to check something, my policy is clean it and then choose one part to remove for a complete strip and check so I am surprised at the rust mark.

I can only put it down to a combination of Danish beaches, UK salted roads and me missing something.
