Just to add my 2 penn'oth..........
I've had 5 BM's over the past 23 years and bought my 2nd from Fowlers, Cardiff. If I like a bike I see no reason to change it and it gets FBMWSH no expense spared as I expect to keep it 50k miles plus. This was the attraction of BMW's until they started to cut weight and manufacturing costs.
I first met Peter Cramp as they were setting up the new dealership by Culverhouse Cross in '99 and have used Rydales for the past 8 years.
I have been very happy using them and found the outfit to be a good combination of friendly banter and professional help. Trustworthy, efficient and prompt to sort out urgent problems - what more do you want?
Not cheep and Peter has had a fair bit of my disposable income over the years, but then I didn't buy a BMW bike to save money. It is discretional spending - about the only thing I do with my money that is for ME! [The wife said I don't need 2 bikes - to which I answered "I didn't NEED the first"]. My car is cheeper to run.
I've never asked for the cheepest fix, just the best together with honesty. As far as I am concerned that is what I have had.
BUT, a dealership without service backup is bollox - I may as well buy over the internet. I would not buy from Cardiff and have servicing in Bristol. I would rather buy from Bristol and build up another long term friendly relationship so when I rush in and say I need X urgently 'cos I'm off to sweden tomorrow, they help me out.
For now my GSA will be serviced by Mike and if he goes under, I'll probably leave BM and go Japanese .
cheers
Simon
p.s. Peter - white, no sugar thanks
