I am in Cardiff Sunday to see Bruce Springsteen at the Principality Stadium. I have been searching the internet for parking on big event days and it looks like a nightmare. Can anyone offer any advice on where a good place to park near the stadium or in walking distance nearby?

Whilst we stayed over at the Holiday Inn, Schooner Way the last time we were in Cardiff Bay, you are probably too late to book anything nearby at this late stage.

However, I think they usually run a P&R bus on event days, with the park about 15 mins from the Stadium at Leckwith near from junction 32 off the M4. Maybe check with the venue to verify.

Junction 34, A4232 down to Leckwith, the football stadium park and ride, 25 min walk to the Principality. It will be busy. Make sure you get west of the Brynglas tunnels, Newport, nice and early. Traffic wise it will be busy and the tunnels are a bottle neck when there’s no events on.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats...bruce-springsteen-cardiff-2024-stage-29094683 gives you details of the official park & ride in the Bay, or within walking distance at the cricket ground in Sophia Gardens or Civic Centre at a cost.
It also details road closures and my favourite spot in Windsor Place won't be accessible.
The residential areas within walking distance are all permit only (I used to live in Roath) and likely to be full with residents at home on Sunday anyway.
With a car the park and ride is probably the least worst option but it's west of the city so as above, travel there early.
If I was on the bike, I would sneak in through the back streets of Roath and Cathays to St Andrews Place where there are loops for a chain https://maps.app.goo.gl/pYhh6gT8UXekJP6F9 as I would not be able to access my usual spot on The Friary by the Hilton.

Maybe park at Bristol Parkway and get the train, only 2 stops away.

We were there the last time Bruce played at the stadium. We stayed in a b&b in Newport and took the train in. After the gig, for some reason all the trains were cancelled. Luckily I have an old navy mate who lives in Cardiff and he picked us up but the car journey back to Newport was a nightmare, totally rammed. Apparently Cardiff is like it all the time.

Enjoy the gig Andy.

Im also there on Sunday but we're taking the bus in and getting picked up after.
You could try Radyr train park and ride M4 J32 to A470 North its about 2 or 3 mile off the motorway.
Or Cardiff Bay, https://www.visitcardiff.com/highlights/mermaid-quay-car-park/ its about a 20 min walk to the stadium or £5 ish in a taxi it'll be busy but if your early you might get in.
Centre of Cardiff you could try John Lewis car park but that will fill up quick.

If you arrive in plenty of time you could eat in Cardiff Bay before the concert.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies: UKGSer, a mine of help and information as ever, definitely the best Motorcycle forum on the internet imho :)
I was going to go for the Park and Ride but looking into rail, the train from Bristol Parkway is the best option for us. Its a direct 30 minute trip into the centre of Cardiff (5 minutes from the stadium) and will allow us to avoid all the traffic leaving the event, with a shorter 2hr drive back to Devon.
I will just have to make sure we don't miss the train at 23.25hrs back to Bristol, or it's going to be a long night!

They have in place a queuing system at Cardiff Central and it can get very congested. What time is the concert due to finish compared to 23:25hrs?
I know for some sport events the last train has gone 5 minutes after the final whistle.

The concert ends about 10pm, so we have one-and-a-half hours for the crowds to clear before our train leaves for Bristol Parkway. No doubt it will be standing room only.

I hope it all works out for you fella. Enjoy the concert.
