S1000XR

Just remember to take them off when submitting your bike to your dealer for a warranty claim !

The thing is bonkers. They will sell like hot cakes

I'm a big GS fan so I wont be parting company with my cash anytime soon, if at all

Test ride booked for Saturday. I'm also a big GS fan, so I'll see how it gets on down my favourite GS roads.:D

Im test riding one tomorrow afternoon and returning it on saturday, be interesting to see how it compares to the new multistrada i tried a few weeks ago in terms of fun factor n thrills.

I made a tentative enquiry and was promised one for next month if i want one

Funny you say that, as two dealers I've spoken to seem to think they could get hold of one quickly!

Are they arriving with the correct spec, as I saw a Sport SE in the showroom the other day, and it didn't have the LED strip on the front?

Dunno I have not looked that deeply as the deal would have to be good for me to be tempted this year ( not prepared to blow my brains) but maybe just maybe there is a serious bit of Hype about rarity and waiting lists etc by BMw to keep prices inflated for the change when the ash tray is full tosser like you and I :D

I know that i will want one once i have ridden one a the reviews cannot be all wrong :thumb

Apparently the ones without the Drl were meant to be demo bikes so I'm told, all retail ordered bikes should have the Drl. It seems the launch of this bike has had a vast interest, Pidcocks demo bike has 2k on the clock now and still looks as new .

Can't wait to get mine and get it farkled up, who knows it may visit that place called HILLTOP !

Apparently the dealers received a £250 credit because the Dri was absent but the cost of supply and fit is way over the credit.

Oh well ive tried it now but its not for me, stupid fast n very vibey compared to my GS WC. Been there done that before, sticking with what ive got.

I prefered the new multistrada to ride compared to the s1000xr. Punchy , sounds lovely, almost as quick but a more relaxing ride most of the time whilst enjoying that twin engine soundtrack.

Well, I rode it. Here are my observations:

The bars are very buzzy, unless you're accelerating.
The footpegs need lowering.
The heated grips worked as well as on the R.
It's fast, but not as fast as the R.
It goes round corners like its on rails.
Cornering abs works very well.:augie:D
It's more comfortable than the R on the nadgery stuff, but not as comfortable as the GSA.

I liked it. A lot. But I'd have to get a very good deal on one to warrant chopping the R in for one. The lack of BMW accessory availability is frustrating; why can't they release the accessories at the same time? I'll wait until the fuss dies down, and I can get a discount before considering getting one, but I certainly wouldn't trade the GSA in for an XR.

Getting back on the GSA after riding the XR felt great.:thumb

Strange how you say it's not as fast as the R, everything is identical ! (Engine-gearing wise) does your R vibrate at all !

The XR is 20 kilos heavier! And the R has no vibrations.:thumb

I was ready to place an order.
