Ok new on this form but after riding only about 70 odd miles I get so uncomfortable on my R1200 GS and am toying with the idea of forking out on a saddlemen gel channel seat, has anyone fitted or used 1 of these before I go down this route, they do look designed for maxium comfort.:jager

I've suffered for a while with a sore coccyx ( it's getting better though) tried no end of seats over the years, including a saddlemen.. By far the most comfortable seat I've had is a Sargent....so much so that when riding I didn't even think of my backside :thumb2

I have never tried Saddleman or corbin but i was very happy with the Sargent i had on both my GS s

The only time i didn't was when i had my GSA and the sergeant made the bike feel just too tall for the comfort pay off and the stock seat was pretty good anyway

Don't know about the saddleman, I was the same as you with the standard seat after an hour in the saddle so I bought a used Sargent seat.
They are very firm but it seems to work, a three hour stint isn't a problem now.
Having said that I haven't tried any others, what suits one person might be torture for someone else.
Best if you can try before you buy, it's an expensive mistake if you get it wrong. :thumby:

The OEM GS seat dug into my coccyx. It felt like I was sitting on a lump. The OEM Adv seat is narrow and hard. Could not wait to get it off the bike.

I found the Sargent dug into my leg so suspect they are better for people taller than me. I've used a Kahedo/Touratch for years and been happy but I didn't buy new. Corbin was ok (on a different bike) but V heavy and not really weatherproof.
