Safe Wheel Cleaner?

Does anyone know of a degreaser/cleaner that is capable of cleaning wheels, calipers etc without contaminating the brake pads and dics.

After a wheeling cleaning session with Gunk my brakes don't work

BMW wheel cleaner. Get the car wheel brush set too. Brush kit not cheap, I think about 25 squid but I have had the same set for 15 years and still as good as new. The cleaner is quite cheap and comes in a fe-fillable pump spray bottle.

Costco do wonder wheel in gallon sizes....dunno what the price was but i saw a pallet or ten in thurrock today and i bet it's cheaper than Halfords.

The 5 litres of Wonder Wheels in Costco is £9.95, about the same size as a litre from Halfords......

However, it's great at cleaning alloys on cars but can be a little fierce on bike alloy......different coatings, methinks.......

Muc Off is the way to go.....

I agree with the Muc Off method, very effective and doesn't mark the alloy - unlike Wonder Wheels. I made the mistake of using that on my last GS and it stained the alloy.

I've no problem with the effectiveness of Gunk, I've been using it for yrs. What I have a problem with is the way it seems to be absorbed into the pads for a short while and the resulting reduction in brake performance.

I've tried using using brake cleaner on the discs with only limited results, after all I can't spray the pad surface.

I was tempted to try Auto Glym motorcycle cleaner but as the instructions seemed to recommend cleaning the bike before application I stuck with Gunk, which, incidentally doesn't smell nice anymore.

What I was hoping for was something that rinses off totally leaving no residue.
