I went to the garmin site and logged in to try the Safety Camera Subscription trial. However when it asks me to connect my device it says...

No Device Found. Please make sure your device is connected, and click 'Connect' to try again.

Despite turning the device off then back on several times. I can hear Windows detect the Garmin so I know it's not my computer? Don't tell me that Safety Camera Subscriptions don't work on the Nav3??????

this is the email i got from garmin
Dear Ashley,
Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.
unfortunately the Safety Camera Database supplied by Cyclops are not available for the Street Pilot units. :tears:tears:tears:mad:
To have a Safety Camera Database on your unit you will need to download the data from a third party company.
To install the data please follow the attached guide to using the POI Loader to download this information onto your unit.If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know.Alternatively you can search for a solution here: http://www.garmin.com/support
Kind regardsMs Leoni Tomkins

not sure if the nav3 is the same though.:thumb

If you use the program Garmin --> Webupdater, can you "find" the device? If you can see it, then the step you are trying to take should work -although I have to say I do not use a safety camera subscription.

Yes the NAV3 does auto detect using mapsource, webupdater etc. I have successfully updated to 2009 maps (which to download and update must have taken 4-5 hours). I can't get the speed cameras service from Garmin so where can I get the free ones?

And yes the NAV3 is the same as the Street Pilot range

IMO "free" ones aren't worth the money.

Subscription ones like pocketgpsworld work IMO. But then I seeem to remember saying this before.
