Saint Quentin hotel

Hotel Le Florence.... right in the centre of town, secure parking and really good value. Stayed there many times

San Quentin

Hi stayed over night in San Quentin in May this year. Etap was ok with private secure parking. I wanted to leave very early and breakfast was there to be had.Hotel was clean and tidy but a bit soulless. A couple of decent local bars. None of it was fantastic but good enough for an over night stay. Hope this is of some help. Glenn.

I too have used the Le Florence, 42 Rue Emile Zola (six nights while exploring the Great War battlefields).

It's a family-run hotel very near the centre of the town, handy for restaurants etc.

They have a locked car park and while I was there in 2005, the owner insisted that I park my bike inside their garage (free of charge). The parking is at the rear, accessed via the one-way system but you can pull-up outside the front to book-in.

I liked it for the location and the fact that it's a bit quirky, typically French.

Have used the Premiere classe twice in St Quantine, no probs with the bike (secutity) its on the same plot as the Campanile and B&B chain with food at the Campanile if its just an overnight stop its cheap and does the job if you want a bit more then Campanile is 2* for 30 euros more, had a wander around the local area and it seems fine. Easy to find just of the autoroute.

Glad to hear you picked the Florence. I too stayed there for one night this year. As Mike P says it's a bit Quirky but all the better for it. Bike parked under an archway in the locked yard at the rear. Have a look at the "Plate Warming Radiator" in the Breakfast Room. Classic French. They did have a bit of renovation work going on during my stay with unfinished wiring hanging from unplastered walls but I loved it. Just the right distance from Calais too.

hows the parking on this one?

Sorry I've been out of touch and only just re-read this. I can see it's too late now for you but just in case anyone else wanted to know.

The B&B has it's own parking that is secured by a perimeter fence and a locked electric gate during the night. Prices start at around 37 Euros (without breakfast) and there is a Mac D's just down the road for you in case you like an egg n bacon macmuffin instead of the continental breaky :thumb

Just to add to AWRT's post regarding the "Breaky". When I stayed there earlier this year Breakfast was very good. Along with the usual Breads, Pastries etc there was Cold Meats, Cheeses, Yoghurts, loads of fresh fruit and a "Boil your Own Egg" gizzmo. (Read free packed Lunch !!) Couldn't fault it.
