Good fruit cake
How did you all get on if it went ahead? Loads of fog in London so hope the plain wasnt like that.
In the end it was only myself and bakerman, there was a bit of fog about to start off with, but it cleared by lunchtime to clear skies and glorious sunshine.
A brief explanation of the route:
Seeing as we were both riding pogo's, we headed south towards stockbridge and took the trails across the salisbury, where we dropped down to ride over pepperbox hill.
From here we rode across to downton (via a nice little cafe next to the A36that served cracking fruitcake

), where we continued to head west towards the start of the ox drove. Only we didn;t ride the ox drove, instead heading up to Coombe Bisset and onto salisbury race course. We then had a quick blat up the A36 to Stapleford, and headed north on the byway opposite the garage to the A303.
We continued to head north on the byways up to tilshead, before heading east for Andover, cutting across the racecourse at Larkhill on into netheravon.
Once across netheravon, we headed across the military tracks and a few byways to luggershall, and back to the start.
One thing that has become apparent is that finally after god knows how long, someone has finally decided to put byway signs up on the plain! It was also good to see some restricted byways have been opened up as well
It's also very noticeable how much the tracks have changed in the past few weeks. the chalk tracks now seem to have this permenant layer of slime on them

, and in places the puddles have started appearing.
That said, the main routes across the plain are still very rideable on a big bike as they are mostly hard packed gravel.
Next rideout will probably be Bakerman's christmas rideout on the 27th of december.
